Politician Marion Barry died Sunday morning, November 23.
According to The Washington Post, Barry had been released from Howard University Hospital just hours earlier. He collapsed after arriving home and was rushed to United Medical Center in Southeast Washington, where he was pronounced dead at 1:46 a.m.
Barry served four-terms as the mayor of Washington, D.C. He gained international notoriety in 1990 when he was caught in an FBI sting smoking crack cocaine at the Vista Hotel in D.C. with a female friend, Hazel Diane “Rasheeda” Moore.
