A Dallas concert promoter is suing R. Kelly for allegedly failing to return part of a hefty deposit for a concert he backed out of.
TMZ reports that Darryl Austin paid Kels $100,000 up front in January for an April show, but in February Kelly’s reps said they knew nothing about the upcoming event.
The R&B superstar eventually returned only $70,000 of the fee he was paid.
Austin wants a judge to order Kelly to return the remaining balance or be forced to perform at the concert next month.
