It wasn’t common back in the day for 30-year-old rappers to still be in the game, but Twista told VladTV that 30 is the age when a lot of successful rappers have peaked. The Chicago emcee points out that Nas and Jay Z were around that same age when they were on top of their careers.
Twista elaborated more on the subject by saying that it’s now possible for 40 and 50-year-old rappers to be relevant, and adds that Hip-Hop has evolved from its previous way of thinking.
